SOAR - Supporting Others Achieve Recovery

Why Use a Recovery Coach?

Navigating your way through the recovery process requires many changes in your life.  Some of those changes can be managed with your therapist, some with your nutritionist, and others through discussions with a support group.  But what about the one on one issues that only affect you personally?  Navigating difficult insurance?  Learning to grocery shop with a new meal plan and a different set of expectations for yourself?  Arranging your home to be conducive to a new way of life, focused on getting your eating disorder behaviors behind you?  A Recovery Coach is available to help you use the tools available to you in the most efficient way.

A Recovery Coach can provide the following:

  • Work on creating a grocery list and shop with you

  • Trouble shoot potential obstacles in your home environment that are not conducive to healthy living including rearranging your kitchen, closet, etc

  • Provide positive accountability and companion for a healthy meal

  • Provide role modeling and assistance in restaurant eating

  • Assist  families in transitioning their loved ones back to a school environment
